Front Desk & Community Assistant 

We are looking for a vibrant and exceptional person entering or reentering the job market to join The Corner Office team. We are looking for the right person who is passionate about our community and fits in with our office culture and helps to nurture it. This is an entry level role with growth potential.


Who is this role for?


This role is best filled by an extrovert that loves people and building relationships, and who is looking for a position with room to grow. This person has an interest or experience in hospitality or the service industry. Experience in office reception, as an administrative assistant, or something similar is advantageous. This role is critical for first impressions, candidates must be friendly, energetic, and polite.

What does the role entail?


Your main purpose is to manage, improve, and enhance relationships in the coworking space to keep a harmonious environment, create member-to-member connections so members and guests keep coming back. Your mission control station will be at the front desk, where you will create a welcoming feeling when entering the space. 


Core responsibilities


Front Office Support

  • Answering the phone and directing calls

  • Office Tours

  • Screening for members/non members

  • Greeting guests and informing members of guest arrival

  • Accepting packages and sorting mail

Admin Support

  • Co-ordinating bookings

  • Ensuring accurate records on bookings, print records and simple admin tasks.

Member Support

  • Member Signups

  • Member Communication

  • Keeping the kitchen and members lounge/coffee station stocked, clean and tidy throughout the day

Community building

  • Social media support

  • Hosting/organising member gatherings (eg. we do office drinks on the first Friday of each month)

  • Creating the space “vibe” (a general awesome feeling that resonates with your members)

  • Introducing new members to the community and facilitating connections


Requirements

  • Must have own transport

  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English

  • Must be confident on the phone

  • Must be a reliable and organised team player

  • A high level of ethics, empathy and dependability

  • Matric Certificate

  • Highly technically capable. Able to understand and work with a variety of hardware and software applications that our space depends on. eg:

    • Gsuite or equivalent (eg. Microsoft Office - word, excel etc.)

    • Trello (advantageous)

    • Slack (advantageous)

  • Passion for our entrepreneurial community - we want you to immerse yourself in our coworking community and not just feel like you're ‘doing your time’ at work
